President Gordon B. Hinckley, Prophet of God, has Died. President Gordon B. Hinckley, prophet of the LDS (Mormon) Church, has died at age 97. President Hinckley was the fifteenth prophet of the Church and the oldest prophet in the Church’s history. He died from complications of age. U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch, also a Mormon, said: “His life was a true testament of service, and […] (January 28, 2008)
Interesting New Online Church Video. A friend of mine recently pointed out that the Church has produced a great online video explaining basic Mormon beliefs. Here’s the description from the Church website: “A 10-minute video originally produced for the large number of journalists visiting Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics has been updated and posted on Newsroom today […] (January 27, 2008)
Mormons and Catholics: A History of Solidarity. Because of the prominence of certain Mormons in the news lately, people in the United States have been talking a lot about Mormonism. Some members of certain denominations have taken advantage of this “Mormon Moment” to vocalize their claims that Mormonism is a Satan-inspired cult whose members are doubtlessly hell-bound. This religious bigotry has been […] (January 21, 2008)
The Book of Mormon mentions horses, elephants, cattle, swine , bees, barley, and wheat. Everyone knows none of these species existed on the American continent before Columbus. Doesn’t that prove the Book of Mormon is false? (January 19, 2008, 3 comments)
What all do missionaries do? Is it true they leave for two y ears and can only communicate through mail and call on Mothers Day and Christmas? I also heard that they have to take some kind of test. What is that? (January 18, 2008, 1 comment)
What is official Mormon doctrine? Many convert to Mormonism from religions that have very well-defined “official doctrine.” These want to know what constitutes “official doctrine” in Mormonism. Mormons believe that God continues to speak to modern prophets and apostles just as He spoke to men in ancient times. We do not believe, however, that prophets and apostles are infallible. They […] (December 31, 2007, 1 comment)

Free MP3: “How Great Thou Art” Music plays an important role in developing spirituality. I encourage those who are investigating the Church to become familiar with the many hymns that help us grow closer to God. Recently, my sisters and I put together a recording of “How Great Thou Art,” one of my personal favorites. I hope this hymn touches you […] (December 23, 2007)
What are Mormon religious services like? Sunday or Midweek? How would your Sacrament Meeting differ from, say, a Methodist or Baptist or Assembly of God or Lutheran or Anglican or Catholic or Orthodox Communion Service? Thank you and God bless. (December 14, 2007, 1 comment)
Trinitarian Christians for the most part do not accept LDS M ormonism as really Christian because of polytheism/Henotheism. How would you respond to one who says that LDS Mormonism is more distant from historic, biblical, and traditional Christianity than historic and traditional Judaism and Islam are? Thank you. Hi! 🙂 I hope this doesn’t sound too stupid, but some of our… Hi! 🙂 I hope this doesn’t sound too stupid, but some of our best friends are Mormon, and I was wondering if there are some things that are considered offensive in the Mormon religion and how to avoid them. I really love them and I just don’t want to do anything to make them uncomfortable […] (December 1, 2007, 3 comments)
Does DNA Evidence Prove the Book of Mormon is False? Many who are investigating the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have heard claims that DNA evidence proves that the Book of Mormon is false. This claim is not true! I have a master’s degree in physiology and developmental biology, and I’m currently pursuing a combined MD/PhD degree in both medicine and biomedical sciences. […] (November 26, 2007, 2 comments)
