The "War in Heaven" is a Christian concept described in the Book of Revelation, in the Bible. Mormons believe the War in Heaven occurred before the earth was created. Satan and his followers rejected God's plan and rebelled against their Creator. Satan wanted to force all of God's children to choose the right, thereby denying them their free will. He wanted all the glory for himself. Jesus, on the other hand, believed that men and woman should be able to choose between right and wrong. He offered to pay for the sins of mankind if they would accept Him by doing His will. Importantly, Jesus said all the glory should go to God the Father. The Father chose Christ's plan, and Satan was furious. He led 1/3 of the hosts of heaven away from God's presence.
