Hi friend. To my knowledge, this issue has only been discussed in official or semi-official church sources twice in the past 178 years (once by George Albert Smith in 1908 and once in the non-canonical book "Doctrines of Salvation"). Little mention of this practice has been made in recent years. Consequently, I think this is an example of Mormon culture/folklore rather than Mormon doctrine.
It is true that many other Mormon ordinances involve the right hand. Perhaps that is the reason some think the sacrament should be taken with the right hand. Hope this answer helps.

If you go to the http://www.Lds.org website and look up "right hand sacrament" It brings up the exact same question answered in the March 1983 Ensign's "I have a question. "
Here is a small quote from the answer given by Russell M. Nelson:
"The hand used in partaking of the sacrament would logically be the same hand used in making any other sacred oath. For most of us, that would be the right hand. However, sacramental covenants—and other eternal covenants as well—can be and are made by those who have lost the use of the right hand, or who have no hands at all.
Much more important than concern over which hand is used in partaking of the sacrament is that the sacrament be partaken with a deep realization of the atoning sacrifice that the sacrament represents."

I don't know. I suspect however it may have something to do with having a hope of being found on our Lord's Right hand when He comes again and Judges the world.
Perhaps our partaking of the sacrament, which is done in similitude and remembrance of He who will wash away our individual sins, And perhaps using the right hand is done out of respect.
In truth it doesn't truly matter as to what the answer is. As we are not given ALL the answers in this life only enough to choose to hope and trust that what we are doing is correct and acceptable to Our God.

First you have to realize that we are taking the sacrament in remembrance of our Savior Jesus Christ and in the God head Christ is on the right hand side of God. This is done to show respect to our Savior
