I’m looking into religion and I was thinking about the activities that Mormons do. If I was to join the Church, would I have to do all the activities like 2 year missionary work and do community work, because I don’t want to cause any offence or insult, but I think I would find it a little bit much for someone to do. Also, do the people who are part of the church always do religious activities, and do the speak differently from non-religious people, meaning do they speak about the Lord a lot? Thanks

Hi Steven. I'm happy you're thinking about joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I really love being a member of this church. It's brought a lot of peace into my life that I wouldn't have found any other way. I hope the church can be a blessing in your life as well.
For young men between 19 and 25 years old, serving a mission is a great priviledge and a commandment given by God. Tens of thousands of Mormon youth serve in missions all over the world. I wouldn't trade my own missionary experience in Brazil for anything. However, those who choose not to serve missions are still perfectly welcome in our church. They can do all the things in church that any other member can do.
There are a lot of Church activities for those who want to participate. However, the only really essential meeting is our worship services on Sunday mornings. All other meetings are entirely optional. For the most part, Mormons live their lives much as other people do, going to school and work, spending time with friends and family, etc.
Mormons do often talk about God with each other, just like members of any other church do. However, I've met some religious people who constantly make reference to God, even during casual conversations that have nothing to do with Him. That's not really the Mormon way.
