Can an older person join who has bad habits such as cursing (not in God’s name) but general non vulgar cursing. Can a new Mormon women join if her husband and dad disagree and are Christians? Can I dye my hair frugally and not pay 10% if I don’t have a job but live off my husband temporally. Can I not go on missions? and if I get a job then pay the 10%? Can I have sex with my husband if I don’t have a drive anymore but just to make him happy if he can manage. Can I see my dead mom in heaven. Do Mormons love Dogs and livestock, can Dogs be treated like family and live in the house. Can I wear make up to cove up my aging and all gray hair to look younger for employment. Can I still drink my Coffee every AM and a beer at night sometimes, take sleep aids from Walmart. Can a Morman exercise. Can a Morman not be social due to a sick family member and still help in other ways. Do Mormans like gay people and do not judge them, do they accept childless older folks who do not reproduce yet adopt rescue animals. Can I still drink my coffee and beer in secret? And say the word : S&*# ? It just slips out sometimes unexpected in public.

Hi friend. I'm happy you posted your question and that you're interested in learning more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the "Mormon Church." Let me answer your questions:
1) Older people certainly can join the church. Anyone who's interested is welcome.
2) It's true that Mormons try not to curse, but most people slip up every once in a while. If you choose to join the church, try your best to avoid cursing, but don't be too hard on yourself if you occasionally mess up. My mom likes to say "Shania" or "Schmidt" as a substitute for "s&*!" There's actually a funny song about "Mormon swear words" (i.e., words Mormons use in place of curse words).

3) It certainly would be wonderful if your husband was also interested in the church, but that's not required. Adults can join the church regardless of whether or not their family members give permission.
4) Mormons can dye their hair, no problem.
5) Mormons do pay tithing, defined as 10% of their income, as a way of showing God that they prioritize Him over material things. However, if you have no income, then 10% of $0.00 is $0.00. In this case, you shouldn't say you don't pay tithing. You'd still be a full tithe payer, even though you wouldn't pay any money.
6) In case you haven't noticed, Mormons tend to have lots of kids. :) We're very much in favor of sex in marriage. And we don't believe sex is just for procreation. It also helps strengthen the relationship between a husband a wife. Not only is it alright that you cultivate this aspect of your relationship with your husband, I'd say that your concern for his wellbeing is admirable.
7) Mormon theology related to family life after death is more developed than that of any other religion I know. You'll definitely want to learn more about how you can be together with your family forever after death.
8) I love my little dog Daphne, and my mom treats her like one of her children. There's nothing in our doctrine that prevents us from loving animals.
9) Mormons can certainly wear makeup if they like.
10) Mormons should not drink coffee or beer. If you choose to become a member of the church, you'd have to give those two things up. We believe that addictions complicate our relationship with God, so we try to avoid addictive drinks. There are other less addictive beverages that you can substitute, though.
11) Mormons are free to use sleep aids if they need them. I myself take some over-the-counter sleep medication every night.
12) Mormons can and should exercise.
13) It's understandable that helping a sick family member might limit participation in social activities. There are plenty of other ways to serve in the church, so I wouldn't worry about that.
14) Contrary to popular perceptions, Mormons don't hate gay people. In fact, there are quite a few gay Mormons. The church does teach that sex should only take place within a marriage, and that marriage should be defined as a relationship between a man and a woman. So you can imagine it's hard for many gay people to join the church, since it basically requires abstinence. But many do anyway, recognizing that the benefits that come from being Mormon outweigh the challenges. They are valued members of our community.
15) Childless older folks are certainly welcome to participate in our church. There are no restrictions.
To learn more about the church, I suggest you chat with the Mormon missionaries. There are over 80,000 missionaries in the world who visit people in their homes to teach them more about Jesus Christ. Most people who are interested in Mormonism learn about our basic beliefs from these missionaries. You can request a missionary visit online.

You can also learn the address of the Mormon chapel nearest your house online. Please dont hesitate to visit us any Sunday morning (9:00) to see how we worship. Mormons love visitors.
I hope this answer helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm happy to help.
