Can non-Mormons join their Mormon families in heaven? I’m not a Mormon but much of my family is Mormon. Is it true that you believe we won’t be together in heaven?

Mormons do believe in eternal families. We believe that through an ordinance called "sealing," families can live together for eternity in heaven. It's impossible to say which family members will enter into God's kingdom, however. In the end, Christ is the final judge. Your question is further complicated by the following issues:
  1. A family may be sealed but not live up to the promises (covenants) associated with that sealing. Such a family would not be eternal.
  2. Elder James E. Faust, a recently deceased Mormon apostle, explained that the sealing power is strong enough to rescue wayward children in the next life, allowing the family to be reunited on condition of the wayward child's repentance, be that repentance in mortality or in the next life.
  3. Those who are not sealed to their families in this life can be sealed vicariously after death. If the deceased accept the sealing, their family becomes eternal.
  4. Elder Oaks has explained that those who through no fault of their own cannot marry in this life will be denied no blessings in the next life if they keep God's commandments and accept Christ's sacrifice. The details are not clear to me, but sealing and eternal family is certainly just such a promised blessing.
In my experience, it is best to leave these types of questions in Christ's hands. He's the final judge, and He'll work things out in the end.
