Mormons believe in what the Bible teaches: "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." (Revelation 3:19-21, Matthew 5:48, Romans 8:16-17, Galatians 4:1-7, 2 Corinthians 3:18, and 1 John 3:1-2.)
We believe that, under God's influence and tutelage, after death some will progress through the grace of Christ to become more like Him in the next life. However, He'll always be our God and our Father, and we'll always worship Him. We will never be greater than God. This doctrine, called "exaltation," is very important in Mormonism, as it was in the early Christian church. Hope this answer helps.
