If I was to become Mormon, would I be expected to come to church every week? I’m not quite sure if you can miss some weeks once in a while…

Hi friend. I'm happy you're thinking about joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being a Mormon, and I hope you find the same joy and spiritual peace that millions of others have found in the LDS ("Mormon") Church.

Attending church as often as possible is certainly very important. Worshiping as a community brings blessings and insights that "less-active" members of the church (i.e., those who don't attend regularly) don't generally enjoy. God often touches my heart through things I hear or say in church, so I well know the benefits that come from regular church attendance.

That having been said, there are some circumstances when Mormons don't go to church. For example, when people are sick, they typically stay home to recover. Sometimes when people are travelling they'll also have to miss church or perhaps only attend part of the Sunday worship services. Some people are also forced to work on Sundays, which can unfortunately interfere with regular church attendance as well.

So basically, it's good to go to church whenever possible, but there are special circumstances that might understandably lead a member of the Church to miss a Sunday every once in a while. Hope this answer helps.
