At a family reuinion of sorts a young girl being held back by her brother from crossing the street with a speeding car coming, broke free and was hit and tossed 30-50 ft. My dad tells me he and his brothers ran to the girl to see if she was alive, my dad an EMT, firefighter told me 'her eyes were rolling back in her head and from my experience on accident scenes I knew she was dead or in the proccess of dying'... His brothers annointed her with consecrated oil, set apart for the healing of the sick and afflicted, and commanded through inspiration of the Spirit for this girl's spirit to re-enter her body and for her body to be well and whole again.
After they closed in the name of our Savior she opened her eyes, stood up and finished her run accross the street to go play with her cousins as she wanted to do before the car met her.
My mother was diagnosed with cancer and multiple, worthy brethren administered to her, and a cancer that was found on a scan the week before, was operated on to be removed. When the dr. opened her up, the cancer wasn't to be found. While still under on the operating table the dr. left, called the radiologist who came and he and the dr. went over again her x-rays. They both could see the 'lump' on the x-ray, and discussed it and the radiologist stated 'I stand by my first diagnosis the cancer should be _______' (he explained the medical mappings of the location of the cancer, I don't remember all those details as I'm not a dr.)
The dr. went back into sergury and proceeded to look over, around, and through all layers of her skin and organs. The cancer wasn't to be found.
So I hope that sufficiently answers your question, and I know that (as stated by other's who have replied) through the power of the priesthood, restored again to earth by John the baptist and Peter, James, and John, the power of God is made manifest by his will, through worthy priesthood members of the church of Jesus Christ of later-day saints.
Thanks for asking.

Hi friend. Mormons do believe in modern miracles. There is a Mormon ordinance called a "priesthood blessing" that is administered to the sick to help them recover. My wife and I have both been witnesses to modern-day miracles.
It's important to realize, though, that miracles are subject to God's will, not our will. If God in His infinite wisdom decides that the time of death has come or that a challenging illness will strengthen us, no amount of hoping or wishing will lead to health. Miracles are always subject to God's will. Hope this helps!
