Hello, I have been a member of the LDS church my whole life but about two years ago I commited a sin which was I looked at some pictures which I knew I shouldn’t be looking at but at the time it didn’t seem to be a big deal. A year later I was so overwhelmed with guilt that I did confess my sin to my bishop and when he asked me if I did something while I looked at the pictures I answered no, not understanding what the word meant, when I did my bishop was released and we recieved a new one. His wife is in my young womens presidency and I am afraid and embarrassed about what I did and I am scared of what consequences I will recieve. Because of this guilt I have not prayed as much as I know I need to and I have not felt worthy to take the sacrament and the last time I went to the temple I felt kinda sick to my stomach thinking I am not worthy to be in the temple. What can I do to feel more confident that I need to tlak to my bishop and be brave enough to face him without embarassment? I feel that the more I avoid this the more distant I am from the church, gospel, and the Lord. Please help me know what I need to do??

I recently went through the repentance process also, and one of my friends told me something, He said the bishop is only here to HELP you. It isn't his place to judge, but to help you along the path back to righteousness. Only our Heavenly Father can judge you.
The first thing that needs to be felt is guilt which obviously you have felt that. The thing about Satan is that he will use anything to get you not to pray to your Heavenly Father, and so he will make you feel unworthy to do so, but Heavenly Father loves you and no matter what He wants you to talk to Him.
When you talk to the bishop, and trust me you will feel so much better when you get everything off your chest, he is going to help you, and then you really need to sincerely pray. Ask for forgiveness and pour your heart out. When you are truly forgiven, you will know, and your slate will be wiped clean.
Its just a matter of taking that first step into the bishops office, do it... It is worth it.
I hope this helps you.

Jesus Christ is central to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which bears His name.
You are a child of good and he loves you so much. Now that doesn't mean that he isn't disappointed in you and that doesn't mean you shouldn't talk to your bishop because you should. Through the atonement you can repent because of Christ sacrifice for you. You should talk to your bishop out of respect for your self and for the sacrifice that Christ went through for you. In that moment of extreme suffering Christ felt every regret every pain that every person felt good or bad. In the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord told us that we should repent for everything that we do.
Second of all your bishop is the judge over the church with the Lords direct choice. That calling is very big and most people miss that because the Lord is entrusting the judgment of his children in the hand of him. Basically what I'm trying to say is the Lord is right there and he loves you and you should never be scared to talk to your bishop
God loves you so much and don't forget it

Pray to Heavenly Father he already knows what happened tell him your sorry and that you wont do it again. He loves you so much he's willing to hear you talk to him he wants you to talk to him it's the adversary who does'nt want you to talk to him ask your Father in Heaven for strength to talk to the bishop. And everything will be ok.
