Hi, I’m a 16 year old girl. I’ve been dating a guy for over a year and a little while ago, we started to break the law of chastity. We didn’t go “too far” and don’t plan to. We actually promised each other that we’ll never have premarital sex. Anyway, the things we do are very addicting and though we’ve tried to stop a few times we always start doing them again. I would really rather not have to talk to my bishop about this because he’s someone I know very well. So is there any way for us to repent without seeing our bishops? And any tips about how to repent would be helpful as well.

Chastity: What are the limits?
Hi sister. It's excellent that you haven't had sex, but the truth is any form of breaking the law of chastity is going to far. If your sin is serious enough that confession is required, talking with the bishop is the way to get back on the right spiritual path. He's the one who God has called to help you apply Christ's atonement in your life. A lot of people are reluctant to confess, but it brings spiritual peace in the end. You and your bishop can set goals together that will help you avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future. I hope this answer helps.
