My husband isn’t going to church anymore. He was a full-time missionary. He has some friends that are always inviting him to go out. Sometimes he comes home in the early hours of the morning. I try to do our family night, and he participates and seems to get a lot out of it. He’s not a bad man, nor is he a bad father. He just doesn’t want to come back to the church. What should I do?
Through prayer, we can communicate with our Heavenly Father. He’s anxious to guide and help us.
Hi sister. As you know, religious unity is very important in a marriage. Your husband's choice is doubtlessly straining your relationship. I'm sorry you're going through this challenge, sister.
No person can violate the free agency of another. You can't force your husband to go to Church. But you certainly can be a good example. Continue to attend Church regularly with your children. Sincerely explain to your husband how important a religiously united family is to you. Keep inviting him to return to full Church activity in a loving and kind way. Pray to God for help from heaven.
I hope you understand, sister, that God will not judge you for your husband's poor decisions. You're entitled to all the blessings of heaven if you do your best to honor the covenants (promises) that you have made to God. God bless you during this difficult time.

I would encourage you to talk to your Bishop about the concerns that you have. He may have some counsel for you on how you can continue to be a good influence on your husband, and he may work with his counselors and the elder's quorum to help your husband return to full activity within the church. I would also suggest that you talk to your Relief Society President. Let her know what is going on so that she can provide support for you.
