Law of Chastity: me and my partner have broken the law of chastity. We are planning on working towards the temple and getting married civilly for now. Once married we would no longer be breaking the law of chastity because we would be using the powers of procreation in the proper context. How does the repentance process change when forsaking the sin is no longer necessary? What needs to be done to be temple worthy afterwards?
Any sex you had before marriage, however, is a serious sin, and the seriousness of that sin doesn't change just because the two of you plan to get married. I encourage you to chat with your bishop about that sin right away. He'll help you recover your spirituality through Christ's atonement and can also help guide you towards a temple marriage.
I wish you all the best! I know you can recover from this mistake. God sent His Son to make your redemption possible.
