Hi, Mrs Reilly! Hopefully this doesn't come too late, but I'll respond as best I can.

First of all, The Church of Jesus Christ has no position on caffeine. That's actually a rumor started by Frank Zappa (of all people!) in the 1960s. However, Latter-day Saints do have a health code, revealed in 1833 and colloquially known as "the Word of Wisdom" (available online at http://scriptures.lds.org/dc/89).

The Word of Wisdom basically boils down to "Don't eat and drink what's bad for you; do eat and drink what's good for you". There are only a few hard, fast rules, but it does include four specific items that we're commanded not to ingest: alcohol, tobacco, coffee, and tea. (The Church has since clarified that using illegal drugs also violates the Word of Wisdom, but of course that wasn't an issue in 1833.)

While many individuals have their own, personal rules they must follow (my wife, for example, has a condition that causes her problems when she eats citrus), most Latter-day Saints are pretty normal when it comes to their eating habits. As long as you're not offering your friend one of the few items mentioned above, she'll probably be thrilled with your contribution--and if you're not sure, feel free to ask her! Most Latter-day Saints are quite open about our beliefs, and I'm sure she'd be happy to tell you if she has any additional restrictions.

Good luck, and God bless!
