I know a guy that is Mormon and I would like to know more about Mormonism but I am afraid to talk to him because he is smokin hot. We’re in high school and there’s alot of rumors but could set me straight? Can you eat chocolate? Are there pre-arranged marriages? Views on divorce? He said he wants to do mission work for about a year when he turns 18 with his wife. Then go to college and have about six kids. Is this usual for Mormons? Thanks!

Hi friend. I'm happy you posted your question here. Your question made me simile. :) I can tell you have a lot of personality.
1. Mormons can eat chocolate. I consider myself a chocoholic, in fact!
2. Mormons do not have pre-arranged marriages. We pick our own spouses.
3. Mormons believe divorce should be avoided whenever possible because marriage is sacred to us. However, in cases of abuse or other extraordinary circumstances, divorce is acceptable. It's important to remember, too, that there are many innocent victims of divorce, people whose ex-spouses have unjustly abandoned them.
4. Young men typically serve missions for two years when they turn 19. Only older married couples serve missions together; younger, 19-year-old missionaries are always single. Mormons don't usually marry so young. Most Mormons marry in their mid 20s.
5. The LDS ("Mormon") Church does not tell its members how many children they should have. If your friend wants 5 children, that's his personal preference, not any rule we have in the Church.

I hope this answer helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. You're also welcome to chat with the Mormon missionaries and visit one of our chapels any Sunday morning (9:00) to see how we worship! Mormons love visitors.
