When I first got to know the gospel through one of my friends and later the missionaries, my life changed. I became a member of the church in 1992. In 1995, I served as a missionary. Because of some problems I had I had to come back home early. In that moment, I knew it would be very difficult. I had three bishops. The first I consider to be like a father, the second is like a brother, but the third did not treat me well. More important than any of this, I still feel in the depths of my heart that God lives and that he is with me. I have no doubt that Joseph Smith was a prophet like Moses. I always pray the way that the missionaries taught me to pray. I feel so much love when I help others. I learned so many good things in the church. Sometimes I really want to come back, like right now. I’m so happy when I hear the hymns. From the depths of Babylon… In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ teaching his disciples.
Hi Daniel. I'm truly amazed at the number of e-mails I receive from less-active members of the church who still have strong, vibrant testimonies. I'm very happy that the Holy Ghost continues to witness to your heart that the message of the restored gospel is true. I can tell you're a sincere person and that you know the blessings that church attendance can bring. I'd like to invite you to come back to full activity in the church. It's certainly true that the members and leaders of the church are not perfect. Mormons make mistakes just like everyone else does. However, even if the members of the church are not perfect, the church itself is still God's true church. We should always go to church, not because the members of the church never disappoint, but because we love Jesus Christ and we want to serve and worship Him. I know from personal experience that rich blessings come from church attendance.

Some people have a hard time coming back to the church on their own. You may wish to request a visit from the missionaries, who can help you come back. I also recently wrote an article entitled "Are you an Inactive Member of the Church? Come Back!" that you may find helpful. May God bless you with the strength needed to become active once again in Christ's restored church.
