Hi. I’m very frustrated, and I don’t know what you can do for me. I’m not a member of the church, but my husband is, and I’m learning a lot from the church and the missionaries. I love my husband, but he’s not doing what he should. We pray together and have family home evening, but before our marriage he used to always invite women to his house to have relations with him. He met these women on the internet. He promised he would never do it again, but he still does. It brings me so much shame. I can’t talk about it to other people. I think about divorcing him, but I don’t want a divorce. We’ve been together for 3 years. Please help me. I’ve grown so tired of this. It’s really affecting me. Thanks.

Hi Lizeth. I think there are very few circumstances in a marriage where an ultimatum is appropriate, but this is one of them. Your husband is not following God's commandments. He is violating the sacred covenants he made with you and with God. He is making a mockery of the holy institution of marriage. No woman should have to suffer such humiliation. You should tell him to either repent or to leave. There are worse things than being single.
As part of the repentance process, your husband needs to confess his sins to his bishop. You are innocent and don't have any sins to confess, but perhaps it would be good for you to speak with the bishop too. Your bishop will be happy to provide you with the spiritual and confidential support you need during this very difficult time.
Lizeth, I'm happy you're investigating the church, even though your husband has been such a bad example. This gospel really is wonderful. It's brought so much joy into my life. Please continue investigating and learning more about Christ's restored gospel. Regardless of what happens to your husband, you deserve the blessings that come from knowing the Savior Jesus Christ. God bless you.
