What is the female’s role in LDS Church? Are they able to assume a leadership role other than in the Relief Society?

Hi friend. Women have always played critical roles in Christ's church, and they continue to do so. God does not love men more than women; all are equal in His eyes. Women serve in some of the highest church positions, including as the heads of several of the church's auxiliary organizations, not just Relief Society. That having been said, their service in the Relief Society is very valuable and should not be understated.

The leadership on the local level is similarly structured. Women pray, preach sermons, head local church organizations, and even administer ordinances (ceremonies) in our temples.

It is true that the ecclesiastical role of men and women is, in some circumstances, distinct. God has created men and women to be different, and their divinely ordained roles in the church, we can only suppose, are tailored to the strengths of each gender. However, the role of one gender is not more important than the other; the continued progress of Christ's church depends on all of His children working together towards a common spiritual goal.

We are taught in the church that men and women have distinct roles. These are further clarified when you go to temple.

A woman's role and blessing is that of raising children. This doesn't mean that you can't have a career or degree, but that priority should be given to the well being of the children in your home.

As for leadership positions, women can be leaders in Relief Society, Primary (where young children are taught) and Young Women (a teenage program for girls).

While women do not hold the priesthood, this does not mean that they are "less" than a man. Women are held in a very high regard in the church and treated with a lot of respect.
