I don’t belong to your church, but I’m starting to go out with a Mormon woman. I respect her beliefs, but being a Mormon is not in my plans. I’m attracted to her just the same and I’d like to have sex with her, but if I’m not mistaken your church doesn’t allow that. What should I do? I’m really in love with her, but, like I said, becoming Mormon isn’t in my plans.

Chastity: What are the limits?
Hi friend. Thanks for your question. If your friend's a dedicated member of the church, dating someone with no interest in her religion is probably not in her plans. I suggest you learn a little bit more about her faith to see if God can't sincerely touch your heart. If you're truly not interested in joining the church, though, then I suggest you break up.
Our church does teach that people shouldn't have sex outside of marriage. If this woman is a devout Mormon, having sex with her now would be extremely harmful to her both spiritually and emotionally. It would be an act of profound selfishness, not an act of love.
Please forgive the frankness of this response! I just figured you should know. Let me know if you have more questions. I'm happy to help.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Webmaster. If she were to marry someone who is not Mormon and has different standards, it will undoubtedly cause problems. Her faith means that there are movies, tv shows, music that she will not want to listen to. It means that she will not want to have certain food and drink in her house. It means that she will want to serve the church when is asked to do so by her church leaders, by holding positions where she plans activities for the ward, women, children or runs these auxiliary programs, which can be very time consuming.
She will want to be a regular temple attender, but will not enjoy the full blessings of the temple because you are not a member. If you have children together, she will be put into a position of always having to temper what she knows to be true with the worldly example that you set for your children, and knowing that her children will not have the same father-child opportunities as the other children, such as being able to be baptized, blessed, healed by their fathers.
