My mom is very opposed to me getting involved in the Mormon Church. I don’t know what to do to help her understand that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is great. I think the problem is that my family is very Catholic. I don’t know what to do.

Missionaries: An Introduction.
Hi sister. I'm happy you want to join the church. It's very unfortunate that your mom won't allow you to be baptized. I assume you're a minor and so cannot legally make this decision for yourself.

Many don't understand "Mormonism" and so don't realize how it can benefit people, especially young people. Perhaps it would be helpful if your mom chatted with some of our missionaries. Maybe you could also explain how the church has programs, doctrines, and practices that benefit young people spiritually and socially.

It may be that you won't be able to convince her. In this case, try your best to cultivate your faith on your own, preparing for the day when you become an adult and can make your own spiritual decisions. Here are some suggestions of things you can do to further cultivate your faith:There are many young people in your situation, sister. It requires a lot of patience, but I know your day can come.
