Hi brothers and sisters. I feel just terrible because I broke the law of chastity. I spoke with my bishop and stake president, but now I’ve committed the same sin again. I’m praying and fasting that I won’t continue to return to my mistakes. I don’t know if I need to talk with my bishop again or if I’m already doing what needs to be done. Thanks.
Through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can be freed from our sins.
Hi sister. It's excellent that you had the courage to confess your sin to your bishop. Many people don't have that strength. Since you repeated your sin, it's important that you confess again. Of course no one likes to talk about his or her personal failings with the bishop, but the alternative is for you to spend the rest of your life wondering if you're right with God. One of the greatest blessings a person can have in life is to live free from guilt, and repentance makes that gift possible. Don't let anything stand between you and full spiritual recovery, including your own feelings of guilt and shame. God loves you, and through His Son's atonement, I know you can be made whole.
