My boyfriend is Mormon, but I’m not yet. The truth is I didn’t used to believe in the church of Jesus Christ. I didn’t think it was true, but little by little I started to realize that I was wrong. I wasn’t happy, so I started listening to the missionary discussions again so I could be baptized. I didn’t want to be baptized just for my Mormon boyfriend. I wanted to be baptized because I believed it was true. I met some wonderful sister missionaries and was planning on being baptized soon. I was so happy about the idea of being baptized, and my boyfriend was going to go on his mission in a few months. Unfortunately, the two of us made a terrible, terrible mistake. I feel ashamed just thinking about it. Unfortunately, they suspended my baptism and his mission call. Right now I feel so terrible. I feel like I have ruined his life and that he would have been better off if he had never met me. After all, he would be on his mission now. I wish I could go back in time and never have fallen in love with him to hurt him so much. I feel like I’m a terrible influence on him and I’m so sad! I don’t know if I should continue with my plans to be baptized or if I should just walk away from the situation and never talk to him again. Maybe I should just leave him alone so he can do the right thing without me getting in the way. I know that prayer is very important but I don’t know what I can do. Please help me! Thanks for your patience in reading all this.

Hi friend. I can tell that you already understand just how serious your sin is, so there's no need to dwell on that. Instead, I want you to know that through the atoning power of Jesus Christ, who paid the price for all your sins, you can recover from this terrible mistake. God loves you so much that He sent his Son! Think about that! I strongly encourage you to take advantage of Christ's sacrifice.
It's unfortunate that your baptism and your boyfriend's mission have been delayed, but don't see this delay as a punishment. God is simply giving you some extra time to recover from your mistake so you can continue your life as His beloved child. These delays are just part of the repentance process. You should continue meeting with the missionaries and preparing yourself for baptism. After your repentance is done, you can still be baptized. In fact, one of the reasons we're baptized is to wash away our sins, our old selves, so we can begin a new life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Your boyfriend can also recover through repentance. I think it's even likely that he will still be able to serve a mission.
Don't let Satan convince you to give up. You deserve the blessings that come from church membership and faithful discipleship. God wants you to be a happy member of His church. So do I. Good luck!

In addition to what you've been, wisely, told, remember that God has given us a mortal life and body in order to progress. Our progression began as spirit children in the premortal existence (the 1st estate), continues as mortals on earth (the 2nd estate) and will keep going eternally (the 3rd estate) after our probationary term as mortals.
Considering how long we have existed as spirits and how long we will continue to exist after this life, our time here is but a blink. We will make mistakes and, if we have the capacity to understand the omnicience of God's plan, we will repent, dust ourselves off and persevere with the assurance that we are getting better and closer to God with every lesson we learn (however difficult those lessons may be).
Be specific in your prayers. God knows what you want and what you need. He just wants to hear you say it.
