My boyfriend is currently serving a Mormon mission. I’m not a member of your church, but I love him just the same, and I accept him and his beliefs. I’m afraid that when he comes back from his mission he won’t see me the same way. His mission will probably change his way of thinking, and he might want to be with someone from his same religion. Can you help me? What should I do? Will I just have to forget him, or should I wait until he gets home to see what God has planned for us? Thanks.

The Church's missionary program is one of its most recognized characteristics.
Hi friend. Thanks for posting your question here. It's excellent that your boyfriend is serving a mission. Missions help young men and women develop spiritual maturity, and that maturity is obviously very important in a marriage too.

Your boyfriend will be growing a lot spiritually over the next two years, and it's important that you grow too so the two of you will be "equally yoked" (2 Corinthians 6:14). As you likely know, spiritual unity is important in a marriage, so I invite you to begin investigating your boyfriend's faith.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. I'm happy to help.
