Jesus Christ was Himself baptized in the Jordan river to provide an example for each of us. (Reflections of Christ)
Hi Mary. I'm happy to learn that you're interested in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being a member of this church. It's brought me great joy in both hard and good times. I hope you continue to learn more, and that you eventually choose to join us!
Many people join the church in their teenage years. It's important that you have a complete understanding of exactly what it means to be a Mormon. I suggest you chat with our missionaries to learn more. They'll teach you about our basic doctrine and help make sure you're properly prepared for baptism.
It's also very important that you visit to church to see how we worship. You can find the address of the Mormon Chapel nearest your house online. Our meetings generally start at 9:00 in the morning. Let people know when you get there that you're visiting, so they can help you.
The fact that you're a minor won't necessarily impede your baptism. You will need your parents' permission, though. If they don't agree, you can still continue to study the church. Then, when you turn 18 years old and are finally an adult, you can make your own decision.
The fact that you're no longer a virgin won't make a difference. Mormons believe that, through Jesus Christ, we can all repent of our past mistakes. Baptism is seen as a spiritually cleansing ordinance, too, in which past sins are forgiven so a person can begin a new life as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I hope this answer helps! I'm happy you've made this important decision, sister!
