No the Prophet/angel Moroni is not the same individual as Capt Moroni (famous with the Title of Liberty).

No he is not. Captain Moroni was a Nephite leader long before the Angel Moroni was around to finish the last few chapters of Mormon and the Book of Moroni (after putting in Ether) into the Gold Plates.
