September Dawn and the Mountain Meadows Massacre
by -September Dawn, a recent movie by director Christopher Cain, fictionalizes the terrible tragedy known as the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The Arizona Daily Star recently proclaimed, “[September Dawn] can’t shake the implication that it’s some sort of attack piece on the Mormon religion.” In this the first episode of “The Mormon Jungle,” “Peter Priesthood” and “Molly Mormon” discuss the film and explain the historical background behind the tragedy in hopes of helping new members and those who are investigating the LDS Church to better understand the real story of this terrible massacre.
