A 20 Year Old Harvard Undergrad Talks about her Mormon Faith

by Ricardo Ramos -

I thought those investigating the church might find this video interesting. Rachel Esplin is a Harvard junior from Blackfoot, Idaho. She here answers questions posed by Washington Post reporter Sally Quinn.

Day of Faith: Personal Quests for a Purpose – 3. Rachel Esplin

While Rachel did a far better job answering Ms. Quinn’s questions than I could have, I did want to clarify a few points.

  1. Rachel didn’t have much time to describe the Mormon view of Jesus Christ. I just wanted to clarify that Mormons believe Christ is divine, and we do worship Him. We are Christians in every sense of the word.
  2. Garments are thought to provide spiritual protection by reminding the wearer of sacred promises made to God in the temple. They do not typically provide physical protection, obviously.
