Hi. I have a question, and I was wondering if you could help me. I want to know if in this religion you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved. I mean, if a person is not Mormon but is otherwise obedient to God’s commandments, what will happen to him in the resurrection? Thanks for your help.

Hi Ana. To live with God forever in a state of eternal happiness and spiritual progress (what I think you mean by "salvation"), several things are necessary.

1) To be saved, you must let God transform your heart. You must be truly converted.

2) You must try your best to keep God's commandments, to be good.

3) You must receive special sacraments or ceremonies ("ordinances" in Mormon-speak). Jesus taught that baptism, for example, is an essential ordinance.

The "Mormon Church" is an important tool that can help people meet these requirements. It provides teachings and responsibilities to help them become truly converted. It provides a community that encourages its members to keep God's commandments. The ancient apostolic authority that Christ gave to His followers in His day has also been restored, so the church is authorized to perform the sacred ordinances like baptism.
The Church's missionary program is one of its most recognized characteristics.
Because the LDS Church is so ideally suited to help people with these important spiritual steps, God has commanded us to send out missionaries all over the world to teach people about Jesus Christ so they can begin the conversion process. We believe our Church has been established by God, and we want to help other people receive the same spiritual blessings that we've received.

However, people who belong to other churches can still be "saved." God loves all His children. Those who don't have the opportunity to receive the blessings God offers through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church in this life can receive those blessings after they die. It's wonderful to receive gospel blessings while still alive, but God is loving and gives good people a second chance.

I hope this answer helps.
