Why can Mormons wear swimming suits to the pool but not tank-tops and short-shorts in everyday life?

Hi friend. Certain circumstances (sports, for example) require special clothes. In these cases, Mormons should choose appropriate clothing that is not designed to be provocative or immodest. For example, Mormon men should probably avoid Speedo's, and women should avoid bikinis. Nevertheless, it is understandable that in some circumstances activity-specific attire is required.

In day-to-day life, modesty should be similarly valued. Our bodies are gifts from God. We should honor and respect them. Modesty is way of showing gratitude to God.

I hope this answer helps.

Not all of us do wear swimming suits to go swimming! I wear long shorts and a t-shirt. I know of others who wear bike shorts and shirts, and even some who wear scuba gear!
