Baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints requires full immersion in water by a person who holds the priesthood authority to baptize.
Hi friend. I'm happy that you want to change your life for the better and that you want to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! We all face many challenges in this life. I know that my faith in Jesus Christ has helped me get through the problems I've faced. Faith does not always make our challenges go away, but it can bring us peace in difficult times, and that peace is critically important.

The job of a bishop is to help members of the church who have committed sins apply the atonement of Jesus Christ in their lives. For those who are not yet baptized, the best way to seek forgiveness is through baptism. Baptism is an important, spiritually cleansing ceremony. When we enter in the water, we let our old person symbolically "die." As we come out of the water, we are reborn as a new person, a new disciple of Jesus Christ. We symbolically leave our past sins in the water, and commit ourselves to becoming better people. It sounds like you sincerely want to be forgiven of past mistakes and to begin a new life. I encourage you to continue to prepare for baptism, which seems to be exactly what you need!

Because you're not yet a member, I suggest that you turn to the missionaries for help with repentance and making spiritual goals. I'm certain they'll be very happy to help you! There is no need to confess specific sins to them, but they can provide the general spiritual support that you need as you prepare for baptism.

I hope this answer helps too. I know God loves you very much. He will honor your righteous desire to be transformed through faith in His Son Jesus Christ. God bless you.
