I’ve been Mormon for almost a year and a half, but my boyfriend is not a member. He knows that we have the law of chastity, but recently while kissing he touched me intimately. I told him not to, but he kept kissing and caressing me. For a moment I felt really good, but then I immediately told him to let me go. The problem is that now I feel guilty for having giving in for a moment. I have no intention of repeating this mistake again. Before this happened, I had a temple interview with my bishop. I haven’t seen the stake president for the second temple interview. I totally regret what happened and have wept over it. I asked the Lord to forgive and strengthen me. Should I cancel the interview with the stake president?

For members of the church, Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God, our Savior and Redeemer through whom salvation is made possible. (Reflections of Christ)
Hi sister. I'm sorry this terrible thing has happened to you. If you are dealing with feelings of guilt, I suggest you talk with your bishop. He can help you find the spiritual peace through Jesus Christ that you need.

In my opinion, based on my limited understanding of what happened, I'm not convinced you have actually sinned. It sounds like your boyfriend totally disrespected your wishes and proceeded to touch you even though you told him no. Your body may have briefly reacted to that touch, as dictated by your biology. This does not mean you permitted him to touch you. It means you have a human body that is designed to react that way. You immediately told him again to stop, so you allowed your own will to control your physical desires, as all good members of the church should.

I am more concerned that you choose to continue with a boyfriend that has so little respect for you. You are a daughter of God, not an object. You deserve a better man, one who respects your desire to follow God's commandments. I hope this answer helps.

This is an unfortunate situation, but you should not cancel your interview with the Stake President. As part of the interview, you should share with him exactly what you shared here. He will be very understanding and will help you to understand that you may have done nothing wrong and should not feel guilty and can help you understand the steps of repentance if you did do something you do need to correct.

I am sure he has spoken to others who have has a similar experience and will help you understand how this experience and your righteous response can make you a stronger disciple of Christ.
