As I seriously study some of the greek and hebrew one of my questions I have with mormons is the word Jehovah Elohim. Can the word Jehovah Elohim be singular to refer to the Lord Jesus Christ? In Deut 6:4 hear o hear o Israel for there is one lord God. In many passages in Isiah there are passages that refer to Lord God which seems like that it would refer only to the Lord Jesus Christ. I know Elohim in the hebrew is plural and when we refer to Jehovah that is referring to Jesus but in such passages of isiah and deut. Wouldnt it be difficult to refer to Lord God as Jehovah Elohim as two seperate persons in those passages that refer to Lord God as one God?

Elohim and Jehovah are both reconstructions of the Tetragrammaton, the four consonant letters that represent the name of God. When you see "LORD" or "GOD" in small capitals in the KJV, you are seeing a reverent reference to the the Tetra, which follows the Masoretic Text leaving the Tetra without vowel points. Sometimes, the Tetra refers to Gods the Father, Elohim, and sometimes to Gods the Son, Jehovah or Jesus Christ. There are even several passages in the OT where one Lord or Lord God in Tetra refers to ANOTHER Lord or Lord God in Tetra. Keep in mind, "echad," the Hebrew word for "one" is better translated as "unity. "To us, the Father and Son are One in purpose, not substance.

Jehova Eloheim wouldn't be a contradiction at all. Jehova (Jesus) Elohiem (God -pural) ... I don't know your name or family name, but when we refere to you as John Doe ... we are stating your name is John and your Family is Doe, but you are one person. Understan
