The North Visitors' Center on Temple Square has an 11-foot replica of Thorvaldsen's Christus on display.
Hi friend. I'm happy you're interested in learning more about the LDS Church. Your question is excellent. Fortunately, now days it's easier than ever to learn more about the Mormons. I recently wrote an article that describes the steps. The Mormon missionaries can be very helpful. There are over 50,000 missionaries in the world who visit people in their homes to teach them more about Jesus Christ. Most people who are interested in Mormonism learn about our basic beliefs from these missionaries. You can request a missionary visit online.
The missionaries do more than just teach people about the Church. They can also accompany you if you choose to visit one of our chapels to see how we worship, another critical step in understanding the faith better.
If at any time you decide that you are no longer interested in the Church, just explain your feelings to the missionaries. I hope they can help you.
I love being a member of this church. My membership has strengthened my relationship with Jesus Christ and brought me a lot of spiritual peace. I hope you find the same blessings.

Boyd Packer, a world-wide leader of our church, was confronted once on a flight across the nation by an unbeliever who asked a similar question, "How will I know?" President Boyd Packer responded the Spirit will tell you."
"OK then... How do I feel the spirit? Answer me this and might think otherwise about your church."... Presdent Packer asked for more time and the unbeliever scoffed at his inability to respond at the moment he wanted.
Thankfully it was a long flight and the doubter took a nap. Perplexed and concerend for the welfare of this man's eternity Boyd Packer said some prayers for the man. Toward the end of the flight the thought came to him, "How can you can you explain the taste of salt?".. The answer is of course, 'it tastes like salt' once you've tasted it you know.
Unfortunatly that is the way of Feeling the spirit. Once you feel it you will know.
Thankfully you CAN do things to increase your ability to encounter the Spirit of God. Read the scriptures you do have, and pray to our Father with the understanding you have on how to do it. Speak with Him and do even as Joseph did and ask for wisdom. If you ask He will allow you to feel the Spirit and you will know it is the right decision.
This Gospel is God's gospel, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His Kingdom. Nothing more than to have you back with Him is God's desire, but He will not force you. You need ask for strength and take the step.
Good first step. Have you been to lds.org yet? Have you met with the missionaries yet? If not, that's the next step. After that the most important step before baptism is having that conversation with God. Pray. Sincerely. The answer will come... Not necessarily loudly, but often very quietly.

Important thing about developing faith in the Lord is to learn to trust in the Lord in the small things in your life which will helpyoun increase your faith. When you get up in the morning and pray and read the scriptures and ask he lord to protect you as youngo out the door thats a step in faith and trusting the Lord regardless what is happening outwardly. A good way to develop faith is to study and read the word of God and pray and rely on the Holy Ghost as your comfortor who will guide and lead you into all truth. Stay in fellowship with others who are strong in the faith. Fellowship with the missionairies.

If you're not yet ready to meet with the missionaries, you can chat with them online as well. You can also learn the address of the Mormon chapel nearest your house online if you'd prefer to visit without the missionaries' assistance. Please don't hesitate to visit us any Sunday morning (9:00) to see how we worship.
Among the many anti-mormon sites on the internet, there's a number of sites from reliable sources as well. Here's a list you might find helpful:
- The official LDS webpage for those who want to learn more about the Church
- The official LDS webpage for members of the church
- The scriptures online
- The Ensign, one of the Church's official magazines
- The New Era, an LDS magazine for young people
- A webpage with religious songs
- The official LDS Sunday-school manuals
