Through prayer, we can communicate with our Heavenly Father. He's anxious to guide and help us.
Hi Miguel. Doctrine and Covenants 9:8 teaches how we can receive revelation from God. First, we need to study the question for ourselves. Second, we need to ask God in faith through prayer to provide us with direction.
To learn if the church is true, then, you first need to study the Church. God doesn't usually give us things without first requiring us to make an effort on our own. Studying the Church could include these kinds of activities:
4. Discussing the Church with your Mormon friends to learn their perspectives.
After studying the Church, you should ask God to guide you in your spiritual journey. Prayer is a very sacred form of communication with God. God usually answers our prayers by sending us feelings and epiphanies of peace and understanding. I've described what it's like to receive personal revelation elsewhere on this site in more detail, in case you're interested.
God always answers our prayers in His own due time. For some people, He might answer right away. For others, it can take much longer to receive an answer. The key is persistence. As long as you keep doing your part by studying and praying, God will eventually reveal His will to you. I know that principle is true because I've seen it work in my own life many times. Best of luck to you, Miguel.
