Hi Nely. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I think there are few experiences more painful than loosing a little baby. I'll pray for you, sister.
The Church does not claim to know at what point during gestation a spirit enters a human body. It seems unlikely that a small mass of cells could house a spirit, and so it seems unlikely to me that a spirit enters the body at conception. On the other hand, it also seems likely, based on scriptures like Luke 1:41-44, that the spirit does enter the body before birth.
Unfortunately, in the absence of revelation, we can only speculate as to whether or not a 5-month-old fetus has received a human spirit. It's worth noting, though, that by 5 months, the movement of many fetuses can already be felt by the mother, a heartbeat can also be detected, and the fetus already has a human form. It seems likely to me that a spirit could enter such a body.
If your baby's body did receive a spirit, we must suppose that he or she does not need to pass through the difficulties of this life in order to prove faithfulness to God. Certainly, the spiritual progress of babies who pass away is in no way hindered. Your baby can still inherit all the blessings of the Father in the next life.
Though it is not established doctrine, it is a common and, to me, reasonable belief among Mormons that parents of children who pass away will have the opportunity to raise those children in the resurrection. Regardless, God is a just God. I'm certain you'll find peace in the next life with your family and posterity if you remain faithful to your covenants and dedication to God.
I hope this answer helps, Nely! God be with you during this difficult time.

It is difficult to know exactly what happens to a baby's spirit before they are born, because we haven't been told much.
Having experienced two miscarriages myself, I know that the experiences that I had, have been similar and different to many women that I have talked to.
The peace that comes to my heart is the knowledge that my babies are sealed to me, and that if I live right, I will see them again.
Until then, I know that they are loved and taken care of up in heaven.
Because of experiences that I have had, I have an idea of what that includes, but it is too personal to share on here.
One of the best books I have read regarding this topic is titled, "Gone Too Soon--The Life and Loss of Infants and Unborn Children" by Sherri Devashrayee Wittwer.

We had this discussion last Sunday. Our spirit bodies are adult in form and always will be. The child body that began to grow within your body was to be inhabited by an adult spirit who would grow to it's full stature in this mortal existance. I don't know at what stage your baby will re-begin its treck into mortality, but we are told children who die before their age of accountability are made alive in Christ, but will be resurected in the form they were in when they left this world.
I hope that help a little.
PS When my sister lost a baby, she feel a confirmation was given that the childs bodily formation just had a problem, and the phycial growth was terminated, but she would again be reunited with that child and have oportunity to bear her again, and bring her into mortality. I hope the same situation might be yours also. According to our Father's will.

My sister had similar situation. She was devastated and sent many days in prayer and in the temple in prayer. She was basically told that she would receive the same spirit back again if not in this life in the next.
Just because the body do not complete the formation for the spirit, the spirit child is still safe, and God takes care of him or her.
So short answer your baby's spirit is taken care of by God until He sees fit to give it another chance at receiving a physical body.

We aree all Heavenly Fathers literal spirit children from the pre existence as spirits we existed before we were born into this world. In Job 38:4-7 when the morning stars and sons of God shouted for joy... And even before our spiritual birth we always existed as intelligences. Our spirits are eternal. When babys come to earth for a short time sometimes these precois spirits choose to just gain a body and go back to the prescence of God. No babys are ever damned the Book of Mormon confirms this when it mentions to baptize babys is unscriptural. Babys go right back to the prescence of God to the celestial kingdom of God
