Would anyone know if the BC’ Prophets were Nephites and such as Solomon, David, Moses and other o/t prophets. And if any of the n/t Prophets were Nephites? I would say that Lehi was a Jew because he left Jerusalem and went to the Wilderness.

Hi Helena. Thanks for posting your question. It's excellent that you're thinking about these things. Solomon, David, and Moses were Israelites who lived long before Nephi and his people, so they were not Nephites. In the case of the New-Testament prophets/apostles, these men lived in Israel, far from Mesoamerica where the Nephites likely lived. Lehi was actually from the tribe of Manasseh, so he was not a Jew. However, the Manassites and the Jews were close cousins. Hope this answer helps!

According to the Book of Mormon, Lehi was descended from Joseph who was sold into Egypt so although you could say he was a Jew because he came out of Jerusalem, he was technically of the tribe of Joseph, not Judah. One of Lehi's sons was named Nephi and his descendants (and those who followed his descendents) were called Nephites. The prophets in the Old Testament such as Solomon, David, Moses were not Nephi's descendants (many were before Nephi's time) so they would not have been Nephites. Likewise, the New Testament prophets would not have been Nephites since the Nephites lived on the American continent.
