I believe, and I really need God in my life. One day a few gringos came to visit me. They talked with me. It felt good talking with them about God. But then when I visited the chapel I realized that the people there disappoint just like everyone does. I see it’s the same inside and outside of the church. I don’t mean to talk bad or offend anyone. I’m just a person who feels alone in the world. I apologize for any inconvenience. (Question originally asked in Spanish)

Hi Jose. You have an important decision to make. The "Mormon Church" is God's Church. It's a perfect Church, but it's made up of human members who are imperfect and often make foolish mistakes. You say you need God, and I assure you that you can find Him in the Church, even with the imperfect members. I know because I found God in the Church. You say you're alone in the world, but you can find a supporting, albeit imperfect, community. I've found just such a community in the Church.
If you're only willing to belong to a perfect community, you'll be alone for the rest of your life, because perfect communities don't exist. If you decide that you're willing to forgive others for their imperfections, just as God forgives you for yours, you'll find a wonderful community in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've been a member of this Church for many years. Mormons are definitely not perfect people, but I've grown closer to God as I've worshiped Him through His restored gospel. This Church has been a great blessing in my life, and I know it can be a blessing in your life too.
I invite you to keep visiting the Church and to keep visiting with the missionaries. Don't expect perfection. Once you're able to see the Church through a more realistic and charitable lens, you'll see it for the beautiful, supportive community it really is. It's an enormous blessing, brother. Best of luck to you.
