I would like to contact the missionaries but my mother is opposed to my involvement in the LDS church. I am wondering if I can meet with the missionaries somewhere else besides my house (I live with my mother). Thank you for your advice, and for providing this service to aspiring members of the church.

Hi Kira. I'm happy to hear that you're interested in the LDS Church! I've been a member for over 20 years, and it's been a great blessing in my life. I wish you well on your spiritual journey.
I'm sure it would be possible to schedule a visit with the missionaries outside your home. When I was a missionary in Brazil, I occasionally met with people in the chapel or in the houses of their Mormon neighbors. In fact, if you know any of your Mormon neighbors, I highly recommend that you talk with them. Learning about the church in their homes would be a great blessing; they could offer you the social support needed to make any spiritual transition you might be contemplating. Missionaries are often transferred, so it's great to form friendships with the Mormons who live permanently in your area.
You can request a missionary visit online. In the comments box, make note that you'd like to meet at the chapel or in a neighboring LDS house, and the missionaries should be able to accommodate. You might also try using the Church's online chat application to communicate with a missionary directly.
Congratulations again on your interest! Few of the decisions we make in our day-to-day lives really have a lasting impact, but the things the missionaries teach could really transform your life. I know because I've seen many lives transformed over the years, including my own. God bless you.
