I was baptized in the church 5 years ago but my boyfriend and I have broken the law of chastity. We’ve also stopped going to church. Is there any way we could be married in a mormon chapel? We were both members.

Hi Romania. Thanks for your question. I suggest you talk with your local Mormon bishop. It may be possible to have your wedding in a Mormon chapel.

A lot of people have a spiritual reawakening when their lives undergo great changes like marriage. Perhaps now would be a good time for you and your boyfriend to consider coming back to the church. As I'm sure you both know, the Church does a lot to strengthen families. What better way to start a family than by strengthening your spiritual foundation?

If you did come back to church, you could be sealed in the temple a year after your marriage if you prepared yourselves through study and repentance. I can't think of a better blessing than that. I invite you both to pray together and to ask God to reveal His plan for you. Good luck!

God loves you still and wants you back so as recommended by others, go talk to your bishop. God already knows what you've done, and he probably knows all of the hardships in your future. It's called life and learning to choose the better half of living. It's why Jesus and our Father allowed Christ to take upon him all of our transgressions. Sins we keep hidden, aren't really hidden from him. Sins that are confesed and worked on with an authorized preisthood leader (bishop in most cases) can be forgiven and washed away.

D&C 58:42 "Behold he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven and I, the Lord, remember them no more." Go repent and yes you can be married to a boyfriend if that is your desire. As directed previously this would be through your bishop...

Remember that a temple marriage is forever. If you aren't ready for that than still confess and counsel with your bishop and with God on if what your next move is. If you both desire to take the marriage to the temple, God bless. But again, go talk this over with your bishop. Best of luck.
