I really like what I’ve read about this church and I feel like I can really identify with it. I’d like to join the LDS church but I’m not sure how. I live in the United States, but is there a Spanish-speaking congregation I could attend? Can you help me?

Hi friend! I'm very happy that you're interested in learning more about my church, and that you want to become a member! The church has provided me with a wonderful supportive community. I assume, perhaps mistakenly, that you are an immigrant to the United States. Many immigrants in foreign countries sometimes feel isolated and alone because they are so far from their families. I was once an immigrant in a distant country myself, so I know a little bit about what it's like. When I was living far away from home, the church was a great support for me.
Fortunately, there are many Spanish-speaking Mormon congregations scattered throughout the United States. Aside from the many Latino members of the Church themselves, others who have a special love for Latinos also attend these congregations. Many Mormons who were born in the United States have served as missionaries in Latin-American countries in Central and South America, so they have a special love for Latinos. Coincidentally, my own wife is Latina, and I certainly have a special love for her! ;)

Even more importantly, the "Mormon church" has helped me grow closer to the Savior Jesus Christ. I'm not a perfect person, but with each passing year I feel that my relationship with Jesus grows stronger. The teachings of His restored gospel have helped make that relationship possible.
I recently wrote an article entitled "How can I Join the Church?" that you may find helpful. The article describes in detail the steps needed to become a member of the church. I recommend that you first contact some Mormon missionaries. These missionaries are volunteers who visit people in their homes to teach them about Jesus Christ. You can request a missionary visit online.
Mormons really like to receive visitors. I'm sure you'll be welcomed into the congregation. When you visit for the first time, try to get to know a friendly Mormon family. I'm sure they will help you learn more!

There are spanish speaking all over where I live in Orem, Utah. I don't know which state you live in, but I do know that if you contact your local ward, and/or missionaries they can get you hooked up with the best possible fit congregation for you.
Go here and type in your address and it will list the closest meeting houses to you, including single's wards, family wards, hispanic wards, and probably any other flavor of people you have around you (ie we have a Tongan ward right down the hill)
Click on one of the meeting houses and call, leave a message if no one answers, and give your information. I promise you that someone will find you and get you situated to where God needs you most... Good luck and we'll pray for you!

I also invite you to visit our church next Sunday so you can learn what our worship services are like! You can learn the address, meeting time, and language of the Mormon chapel nearest your house online as well.
