Hi. I would like to know if it is true that in your religion you preach that God is constantly changing. Please send me your answer, because I’m interested in your church. Thanks.

Hi friend. I'm very happy that you're interested in my church. I love being a Mormon! This religion has helped me grow closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. I've seen this gospel change the lives of so many people. The peace and transforming power of Jesus' teachings are miraculous. I encourage you to visit with Mormon missionaries and to visit one of our chapels to learn more about our beliefs.

Mormons believe God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. However, our human understanding of God is always changing as we learn more about Him. Additionally, God can also help us correctly apply eternal principles to our ever-changing human circumstances.

Like other Christians, Mormons believe that the word of God can be found in recorded Scripture. The Bible is a good example of this kind of ancient scripture. Mormons differ from other Christian religions, however, in that we don't believe the scriptural canon is closed, meaning we don't think God's words are limited to the Bible alone. Just as God communicated with prophets and apostles anciently, He communicates with prophets and apostles in our days. That's how we can learn more about God, more about what He's like and more about how He wants us to live His eternal gospel in the changing circumstances of our own lives.

I'm grateful to be a member of so dynamic a church. We look to the past, to the Scriptures, to see what God taught anciently, but we also look to the future, excited to learn what more God might teach us in our modern days.

I am also very glad that you are interested in the LDS church! One of the most important aspects of what we preach and believe is the true nature of God. This question is answered in the scriptures that we revere as the word of God. Scriptures in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ, clarify that God is eternally unchanging.

I would like to share two examples that I find meaningful:

The first is Malachi 3:6 - for I Am the Lord, I Change Not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

The second, from the Book of Mormon, is Mormon 9:7-9

7 And again I speak unto you who deny the revelations of God, and say that they are done away, that there are no revelations, nor prophecies, or gifts, nor healing, nor speaking with tongues, and the interpretation of tongues;

8 Behold I say unto you, he that denieth these things knoweth not the gospel of Christ; yea, he has not read the scriptures; if so, he does not understand them.

9 For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing?

These scriptures help explain that God is consistent and unchanging. Perhaps the most important principle to understand from this is that His love--His perfect, infinite love--will never fail, dim, or deviate. Whether we are bad or good, lost or sure of our way, happy or miserable, God loves us and wants to help us return home.

I hope that your interest in the church will lead you to baptism and greater joy drawing closer to God.

On the contrary our religion teaches that God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. We also now that God is continually growing in glory. The details have not been revealed. We are told at the last day of this earth all things will be revealed. So just be patient till then and live the best you know how.
