One Response to “Do baptisms need to be public or private?”

Hi friend. Baptisms are usually public because others want to welcome the new member into the congregation. If you'd prefer a private baptism, though, I'm sure it could be arranged. You should talk to your bishop or branch president. There would need to be at least three people present: one priesthood holder to perform the baptism, and two to serve as witnesses. Let me know if you have any more questions.
