Ive been studying the LDS scriptures to support my critisizm towards the church. My studies seem to be taking a different turn than what I expected. I find myself believing in what I’m learning. Does this happen to alot of people?

Hi friend. I was very pleased to hear that the teachings had in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are beginning to touch your life in the same way they have touched mine. Isaiah described a "marvelous work and a wonder" that would begin in the last days (Isa. 29: 14); being an active participant in this "marvelous work and a wonder" has richly blessed my life.
It is certainly true that many of the current members of the Mormon Church were, at some time prior to their baptism, moderately or significantly opposed to Mormonism. Your question reminded me of an article I recently read, entitled "Conversion of an Anti-Mormon." By linking to this article, I am in no way implying that you are an anti-Mormon. It takes a lot more than questioning Mormon practices and beliefs to be an anti-Mormon. Nevertheless, in both your case and the case described in that article, someone who investigated the Mormon Church trying to disprove or discredit it ended up being touched by its message.
If your interest continues to grow, I invite you to meet with representatives of our Church. Though young, these representatives can explain Mormon teachings from an accurate, Mormon perspective. You can request a visit from these representatives by visiting the website at http://www.mormon.org/question/talk/0,8554,796-1,00.html.
Alternatively, you can simply visit a Mormon chapel to see our worship style first hand. To learn the address of the Mormon chapel nearest you, visit http://www.lds.org/basicbeliefs/meetinghouse. If you do choose to visit, I invite you to seek out the congregation's leader, called a "bishop." Explain your interest to him, and he can further guide you.
And please, if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me. I really enjoy talking about Mormon beliefs, culture, and history.
Good luck with your further research.

I think that there are a few people out there who start out attempting to seek evil within our church, but in so studying the material of the church, are touched by the spirit who bears witness of all its truths and its good.
I wouldn't harden your heart against what the spirit is witnessing to you, but go ahead and seek out more.
Afterall it is the Lord who, speaking through Malichi, says "And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, "... This reference has to do with tithing and the Lords opening the windows of heaven, but I have 'proved the Lord' on many different doctrinal questions, and it's amazing! He never lets me down for a response, and I find the truth in all my questions through my searching!
Also consider moroni's words at the end of the Book of Mormon: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the eternal father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost, and by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. "
That's not too bad of a promise if you want to know truth, ask God.
Last consider the verse that started this whole church through Joseph Smith: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering."

I have to say that at one point in time I was very anti-Mormon. It wasn't until I met the woman that is now my wife that I really looked at it. She is Mormon. It took me 2 years but just like you it happened to me. I would tell you to embrace what you are learning. It will truly bless your life. I have seen such a change in my life and I know you will too. But to really answer your question. Yes!!!! It happens to many that are trying to debunk the church. I know of at least 7 people in my ward that it happened too. Good luck on this journey and welcome to the church.
