Hi friend. Before joining the Mormon Church, it is important to familiarize yourself with the religion's teachings. Reading accurate sites about Mormonism is very useful, but another important step is meeting with representatives of the Church. To request a visit from these representatives, visit http://www.mormon.org/question/talk/. You could also send a letter to the "mission office" requesting a visit. The address is (277) India Bangalore Mission, Anjali Plaza, 2nd floor, 493 C.M.H. Road Indiranagar, Bangalore 560 038, India.

Alternatively, you could just visit a Mormon chapel and tell the leader of the congregation (called a bishop) that you're interested in learning more. Fortunately, there is a Mormon congregation in your city! The congregation meets every Sunday at 9:30 am. The address is 460-461, Anna Salai, Nandanam, Chennai, 500 035.

It's a very exciting time to be a Mormon in India. Mormonism is still in it's infancy in your country. As of 2006, there were about 6,000 Indian Mormons. Here in the United States the Mormon Church has been around for about 180 years. We often speak with great respect of our predecessors who had the courage to establish Mormonism in our country despite the fact that it was still in its early years. It is exciting to know that in our day there are people with that same courage, helping to establish the church in their own lands!

I love being Mormon. It has changed my life by helping me grow closer to God. Good luck with your further research.

Visit lds.org or mormon.org for more info. There's a number there you can call and they'll send missionaries to your home :-)

This is a wise decision, the best decision you could ever make. Make sure to study the scriptures and say you're prayers daily so that the spirit of God will always be a powerful influence in your life. May God bless you and you're family and you're country.
