Converted to the Truth
byWhere do I begin? I grew up in a good Christian home, but something was missing. I could almost physically feel it. I also questioned things from a young age, things that did not ring true to me. I wanted to know the truth of God and all things, like why are we here? I wanted to know for myself, I wanted to hear from God.
When I found the Church, I knew nothing about “Mormons,” but as I studied and learned, it was as if I had heard these teachings before. It was a familiar, comforting feeling. As I questioned, pondered, and truly prayed, my questions were literally answered, through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is real and does speak to our hearts, minds, and ears. I heard and felt for myself things that I cannot deny, things that filled me with so much joy and perfect understanding that it is one of my gifts from God, my own sacred and personal testimony.
Our Father in Heaven truly does love us and is mindful of every person on earth. Jesus Christ is truly our Savior and He truly lives and guides His Church today. These things I know because I asked God myself, and I was humble enough to wait for Him to answer me, and He did. What more could a person want, but that surety and personal promise from God Himself that He loves us and wants us to follow His Son Jesus Christ in truth and in faith?
Sincere questions any person may have can usually be answered by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But if the searching soul who truly wants to be edified and taught from Heaven above, sincerely reads the Book of Mormon, gets on their knees and humbly, as a little child would, asks Our Father in Heaven if the Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith truly is a prophet of God, they will know for themselves and they will start their journey to enter into the same church that Christ is leading today.
My conversion truly was a spiritual journey. I am so grateful that I found the true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I am in awe of my life’s blessings since becoming a Latter-Day Saint. Nothing compares to having the Spirit of truth to guide and direct.
I pray that anyone who is questioning God’s existence and His love for mankind follows their heart to ask of God, patiently wait, and believe that He will answer them.
I say this with a sacred understanding and love for my Savior, and I say it in His name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
