Was Deseret only attempt for mormons to establish their own state? I actually Am very curious, beacuse North America is so big – but only 2 countries owns it (Or 3 if we include Mexico but I’m not sure If I should). And Deseret some Native American state it would be awesome to see that, there is not much about deseret state on wikipedia and internet as a whole.

Hi Simon. Much thanks for your interesting question. Back in the 19th century, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (called Mormons by some) were very persecuted. Our people had to move from state to state to escape people who wanted to harm and even exterminate members of our church.
We eventually decided to leave the United States entirely. We established a civilization called Desseret in the Rocky Mountains that extended from Mexico to Canada.
Though we did leave the United States, I think the plan was always to rejoin the United States at some point, once social tensions had died down.
Unfortunately the United States rejected our petitions for statehood over a period of some decades. Desseret was eventually divided into several states, which were all separately incorporated into the United States.
Even after statehood, the Senate of the United States continued to question whether the state of Utah, where Desseret's capital city had been located, should be allowed representation. Many tried to deny that representation (see the Reed Smoot trail). But eventually our people were integrated into the political system of the United States, even if we remain culturally distinct in many ways.
