I'm sorry Church headquarters did not respond to your letter. Years ago it was possible for the prophet and apostles to respond to personal correspondence, but as the Church grew answering letters began to interfere with the other responsibilities of the General Authorities. In a letter sent to the many wards of the church about a year ago, the First Presidency explained this situation and expressed regret for not being able to answer personal letters. They encouraged local members to speak with their Bishops and Stake Presidents.
